Here at Wavemakers – we often get asked “Is influencer marketing worth adding into your marketing mix?”
In a nutshell, yes.
In fact, according to 2022’s Influencer Marketing Benchmark Report from Influencer Marketing Hub, the industry is set to grow to $16.4B this year as 68% of marketers plan to increase their marketing budget towards influencer marketing. As marketers become more savvy at building their niche audience in platforms like Tik Tok (mainly for Gen Zs) and Instagram (mainly for Millennials), it’s safe to say that social proof is here to stay.
At its most traditional sense, influencer marketing simply shows that people will always trust products and services that are endorsed by others and with investments in micro influencers considered to be cost-effective, putting aside a portion of your annual marketing budget to engage with influencers in a campaign is definitely a good idea.
However when it comes to influencers, not all countries like the same people (truth!).
A good formula to effectively curate your influencers list is to take culture, language and interests into account and combine it with data that indicates the influencer has clout in the country. And the best way to measure clout, is to find out which influencer is highly searched on the internet of that country.
In this blog post series, we’ll be sharing the top 100 searched Instagram influencers in Malaysia so you can get a sense of who Malaysians like to search for on the internet and visit their Instagram profile. Find out if any of your favorites made it into the list!
